Everybody is nervous on their first day of school, and parents often walk up to the door of the classroom, but Riley is asked an interesting question. Riley’s classmate, not understanding that not all families are made up of one mom and one dad, questions why Riley has 2 dads (who is her real dad? Where is her mum?). All sorts of families bring their children to school. After school that day, Riley, feeling anxious and confused, asks her Papa and Daddy why?
In the end, with the help of her parents, she realizes that she does not have to choose: they are both her Fathers, and Love makes a family! Valuable classroom tool for presenting all different types of families and the way to appropriately raise familial issues. Can psychologically help prepare children in non-gender binary parented families answer with more confidence with the aforementioned questions before they are asked in unfamiliar circumstances.
